Etymology

因(인할 인) + 心(마음 심) — 마음에서 우러나와 베푸는 호의, 받을 자격 없는 이에게 주어지는 선물

說文: 惠也。从心因聲。

Biblical Interpretation

은혜(grace)는 인간의 공로와 무관하게 하나님께서 일방적으로 베푸시는 사랑이며, 구원의 유일한 근거이다.
