Etymology

知(알 지, 矢+口) + 日(해 일) — 아는 것(知)이 해(日)처럼 밝고 명확한 상태. 화살(矢)처럼 정확히 꿰뚫는 앎과 그것이 태양처럼 환히 드러남을 합한 글자

說文: 識詞也。從白從亏從知。

Biblical Interpretation

성경적 지혜(חָכְמָה hokhmah)는 단순한 지식이 아닌 하나님 경외에서 비롯되는 삶의 기술이다. 솔로몬이 구한 것은 '듣고 분별하는 마음'(왕상 3:9)이었으며, 야고보서는 위로부터 오는 지혜의 특성을 성결·화평·관용으로 묘사한다(약 3:17).
