멈추지(殳) 않는 결의

'우리에게 구름같이 둘러싼 허다한 증인들이 있으니 모든 무거운 것과 얽매이기 쉬운 죄를 벗어 버리고 인내로써 우리 앞에 당한 경주를 하며'(히 12:1). 바울은 '나는 선한 싸움을 싸우고 달려갈 길을 마치고 믿음을 지켰으니'(딤후 4:7)라 고백했다.

Etymology

豙(고슴도치 의) + 殳(몽둥이 수) — 고슴도치(豙)가 가시를 세우듯 결연하고 흔들리지 않는 의지. 어떤 상황에서도 멈추지(殳) 않는 불굴의 결의
