강 좌우에 각종 먹을 나무가 자라서 그 잎사귀는 시들지 아니하며 열매가 끊이지 아니한다. 芝는 하나님이 주신 자연의 치유와 은혜를 뜻한다.

Etimologia

艹(풀 초) + 之(갈 지) — 신성한 풀(神草). 자연에서 자라나 사람을 이롭게 하는 귀한 약초에서 고귀함과 은혜의 의미로 확장

說文: 神草也。從艸之聲。
